do i need to loose weight? seriously?

I’m 17 years old and I’m 5′ 2. I weigh about 103 pounds and I ALWAYS feel fat, every single day. I wish i was skinnier. I’ve tried to loose weight, but it’s not working fast enough. The lowest I’ve been is 97 pounds and I want to get back to that. any good weight loss tips?

    I’m 13 and 5’0″ and I weigh 93… I’m always told that I’m really thin, and I agree… I’m not fat I can promise you that… You’re underweight, especially since you’re 17…

It is possible to lose weight rapidly but you should be realistic and accept that if you lose weight rapidly then you will inevitably put it all back on again just as rapidly. I lost 5 pounds in recent times when I had a special celebration to attend, and I did it by following the tips presented on the website in the box below.

I’m 14 years old, 5’5′ and 120 pounds. Don’t feel fat. Thats an insult to other skinny girls like you that weight an extra pound or two more than you :) . YOU AREN’T FAT!! Oh, by the way, just something to remember, people will only jokingly call you fat if your NOT. Maybe you feel fat because of your posture or something? Sometimes poor posture makes me feel bigger. What really matters is this: Do you have friends? Do you enjoy life (in general)? Does weight really make a difference?

No. you are quite thin. I’m 5 foot 3, 101 lbs and I feel fat (I used to be 94) but I’m a preprofessional ballet dancer. You are very thin for a regular, nondancer!!

If you want to lose a teensy weensy bit of weight/just lead a healthier lifestyle, try to exercise a little more each week and reduce the amount of packaged/junk food you eat

Omlanta!!! When i was 12 i weighed 112lbs and was 5`2. I used to be 99 at same age and my mom whose an m.d. told me i was underweight at 99. at 103 you DONT need to think your fat..maybe a little short for 17 years but deffinatley not over the normal weight. I am the one who feels fat at 112!!!! Though if you do gain weight and you do an active sport like running, football, or (like me) swimming then its %80 likey to be muscle (though im too self-concious to believe that with my own body =( .
    TaTa!!

You definitely aren’t fat! I promise! Your BMI is 18.8, that’s underweight. I know what it’s like to feel fat I’m 5’3 and 120 pounds (quite a lot more than you…). I used to starve myself and lost quite a bit of weight, but honestly, it doesn’t help, you’ll just want to lose more until you’re seriously unhealthy. What I recommend is going to your school counsellor, they’re really helpful (and you get out of class…). Also, maybeyou could try getting toned as opposed to losing weight, you may not lose anything (due to muscle mass), but you’ll look and feel healthier. Honestly, don’t lose weight please :)

Its YOUR body;; do what you want :P

Get a lot of fiber (mini weats everyother day)
Drink TONS of water (a glass every hour and a half)
Exersize, but not too much or the muscle will make you look big (Jump roping 25-35 minutes everyday, or replace that with swimming)
NEVER eat more than your fist (What i do is eat 2 meals a day with a SMALL snack, breakfast, snack, dinner)
Posture helps burn 10% more calories, and helps with your abs (Always sit up straight)

Good luck!!! (And remember about not eating more than your fist)

Weight loss is a tricky topic. Lots of people are unhappy with their present weight, but most aren’t sure how to change it – and many would be better off staying where they are. You may want to look like the models or actors in magazines and on TV, but those goals might not be healthy or realistic for you. Besides, no magical diet or pill will make you look like someone else.

So what should you do about weight control?

Hope this can help u. :)

I found this on this website. There are more tips and info.

    1. If what you are eating has less than 1 carb, count it as 1 carb just to be sure.

    2. Totally avoid caffine at least for the first two weeks on the program.

    3. Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of plain water or seltzer daily.

    4. Don’t weigh yourself more than once a week

    5. Take starting measurements as well as weight – sometimes you’ll lose inches before pounds

    6. Avoid any type of “low carb” sweetener for the first two weeks

    7. Don’t compare your loss to someone else’s – this is a YMMV thing (your milage may vary)

    8. Stalls are common around the third week so don’t panic

    9. If you follow your plan to the T and don’t lose, consider Candida as a possibility and avoid vinegar, cheese, mushrooms and any other fermented food

    10. Have bloodwork done before starting so you have a comparison

    11. Cholesterol can be elevated in the first few weeks til your body adjusts – make sure your doctor knows that you’re doing low carb and when you started

    12. Don’t blame the diet if you don’t read your plan book — blame the diet if you don’t read the labels — Don’t blame the diet if you don’t follow the diet

I know it’s August now but I just want to say that I am the same way .. Exactly. I’m 22 and 5″2 and avoided the scale for about three weeks and I am about 104 pounds. (I literally just weighed myself .. Even though it’s the middle of the day which probably wasnt a good idea) Before that I was under 100 ( I had lost about 20 pounds when I found out something that really upset me ..) Anyway, lowest was 95 and I felt so good! Not starved or anything! And now I feel fat and everyday just want to be back below 100 pounds even though I know I’m not fat. All the sudden I can’t stop craving sweets .. But I try to stick to healthy foods, and when I do give in it’s dark chocolate or something so it’s not too bad. I also exercise everyday. So, even though I’m having trouble with it too, just remain healthy and hopefully this phase wil pass!
