Help on losing weight and calorie needs?

Hi there. Firstly a little about myself. I am 22 years old, I weigh 178 lbs (12 stone and 10 lbs) and my height is around 6 feet.

I’m currently not very active, My job is in a call centre so I am spending most of my days sat at a desk.

In the last year I have lost 56 lbs (4 stone) by just healthy eating and making better food choices – NO EXERCISE

At the moment I can’t seem to lose anymore weight and it is really frustrating. I have another 7lbs to lose then I will start training on my six pack :)

I need some advice on losing more weight, what’s the best way to do it and if anyone has any tips on how to boost fat loss. I understand it is fat I need to lose and not just weight.

Currently in my work, I work 4 days on and then the next 4 days off. The 4 days that I am in work, I work from 9am through to 8pm so I find it hard to get exercise on these days, so if anyone has any tips on some exercise I could get in at work, would be great.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this and I look forward to your answers :D

Jay

Good for you – it sounds like you are doing a great job. I also tried to loose some weight and got stuck for a long time . . . But – by changing up a few things I eventually lost 50 lbs and have kept it off.

    Eat and exercise!

A strange concept to loosing weight is to eat, but trust me – it really helps! NEVER STARVE YOURSELF!!!

In fact, a few different personal trainers at my gym told me that people are supposed to eat every 2 hours! I was amazed! but by actually eating HEALTHY foods every 2 hours helps raise your metabolism and therefore helps you loose weight!

Also you should have one cheat day a week. She (my trainer) always says to stick to a diet 6 days a week and then have a cheat day 1 day a week – that doesn’t mean to go crazy and knock yourself out by eating only chocolate and hoards of it – but go out to eat, eat that slice of cake – enjoy it! And then, then, get back to your normal days or not eating it.

This really helps your body not get too adjusted to the same routine. Your metabolism will slow down if you are staying on the same calorie intake day after day. So you are supposed to change things up. Plus this gives us all something to look forward to!

I lost 48 pounds a few years ago and got to my goal weight and have since kept it off. Also – we all slip up! Don’t beat yourself up over it! RELAX!!!! Life is too short to always worry about this stuff.

Just have something small and pack it with you to work or school. Eat things like:

    Carrots
Yogurt (plain is usually the best, with live active cultures – you can sweeten it with blueberries, which are very healthy, or granola)
Oats (make sure to eat a good breakfast)
Black beans (really good for you and are great with a corn tortilla)
    graprfruit or banannas
    and spinach

Anyway – there are a lot of healthy choices, but really – your food intake is about 70% of your weight gain or loss!

Also make sure to do the obvious, exercise. But also do things you actually enjoy doing so that you will not get bored and quit. Run, play basketball, dance, just get up and do something!

One great thing to do – no matter what is CORE exercises – I toned up everything by doing these – here is a web site that will show you how to do them . . .

Good luck to you! Hope this helps.

go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7
p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on your
initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don’t
eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you
don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your diet is
still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or
to buy special meals or plans.
