I’m really fat and need to lose this weight, just, how do you stay motivated?!?

okay, so im 5’1″ and i weigh 180lbs i know i need to lose roughly 70 lbs…..i don’t know what got me this far. i used to be really skinny, like, i was 100 lbs when i started high school. But during high school, the weight just kept piling on and on and i never tried to stop it sooner! I just completed my freshman year of COLLEGE. and im taking the opportunity to transform myself this summer. i need this!!!
i have lost so much self confidence and i really don’t want to spend my college years fat, it just makes me sad :( I understand how to lose weight: eat healthy, no junk, and exercise. i can do this for a period of time, but then i lose so much motivation and just binge because then i think ill just stay like this forever :( so, how do you stay motivated???? and if you have any tips for weight loss please? thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!! :)

You need to realize that you are reaching a goal, every healthy choice you make is a step forward and every bad choice is one back. Just surround yourself with active people and make exercise fun by doing it with your friends. Keep pushing yourself and never accept defeat because you will reach your goal soon enough. Good luck

I am 5 “2″ and I got to be 170 pounds :( so the past two months I have been exercising and I have lost over 24 pounds… I know what you feel..

I think what has gotten me motivated is me looking good in those cute outfits that you know you can’t fit in if your bigger…..and I just want to look good for myself and society and not have to worry about people staring at me in a negative way…

The program I have been using is called Sparkpeople its http://www.sparkpeople.com it tells you what kind of food to eat and what kind of exercise you should do..its totally free and its a great website it really keeps you on track… And it has great healthy recipes to offer…. hopefully this goes well for you….

    Plan to stay motivated:

Look around your family and friends – who would support you and help the most. Pick one or two of them and tell them your plans and goals and ask if they would help you. Good to get someone to walk with you 30 mins to an hour a day.

Look up a great diet, lots on the web, but stick to protein (size of your palm per meal), lots of vegetables and 3 fruits a day. Whenever you feel like eating drink a couple of glasses of water or exercise or clean your room. Make yourself soup with low cal vegetables, tomatoes, lots of celery – and process this up with some stock (not too much salt – as salt will retain water in your system) and eat this or low cal jelly when you feel like eating but it isn’t meal time.

Train yourself to cope with the hunger feeling – don’t skip meals but put them off for half an hour will help you develop resistance.

Yes, do lose weight while you are a college – think of all the fun things you do and feel when healthy and slimmer. Write a list of all the reasons you want to lose weight and read this when you feel like binging. Also put a great photo of yourself up on the fridge and look at it when you are discouraged.
Write a list of things to do when you feel like eating: Phone your friends, clean your room, weed the garden, grow a pot plant, knit, sew, study of play cards.

Good luck, and you will get it under control, it sure is worth it.

Cut out all JUNK FOOD. Do situps, crunches lots of cardio. Make sure you only eat veggies and whole grain. Eat only food that you make. I am also 5’1 and trying to lose 20 pounds. Good luck!
