not losing!! and one other question?

1) so since the begining of the summer ive tried to get outside just about everyday to run about 3 miles..ive been quite successfull. along with this ive been shooting baskets in my drive way and working on my game. ive also eaten quite healthy [lots of fruits and veggies] and have been drinking a lot of water…….but ive only managed to lose like 10 lbs! (i am now 15 years old, 5″2, 132lbs, and female) it doesnt even look like ive lost anything — my clothes fit a tinyyy bit looser but i cant seem to notice any fat loss! any explanations/tips to why?

2) whenever i eat just enough to fill me up, the food just comes right back up. its not like i throwing up, i just kind of like spit/burb it up. its really weird and im not sure if its something i should be worried about..

I can’t help you with your second question, but I believe the reason you are not losing any weight is because you are building muscle. You’re doing a good deal of exercising, which is fantastic (keep it up!), and while you’re losing fat, you’re replacing it with muscle. This isn’t a bad thing! Just because the scale doesn’t say you’ve dropped a lot of pounds doesn’t mean you’re not slimming down.
It’s good to be healthy! Yay!

Dieting is more frustrating for females than males because, Males can lose wt. faster. Calorie reduction is the key to losing wt.. Excercise is good for the heart BUT, it makes YOU HUNGRY ! Try the special K diet on the box, it works, and you get a regular healthy meal for dinner, so at supper time, it’s like you are off the diet, something to look forward to instead of “Rabbit Food” for din din !

If YOU VOMIT TO GET RID OF FOOD AND CALORIES, IT WILL DAMAGE THE MUSCLE THAT KEEPS YOUR FOOD DOWN, You will get to the place that food just comes back up without even a gag. also, if you work fat into muscle, the muscle will weigh more, but there should be some signs of wt loss. If there has been no vomiting, see your Dr.

It could be a combination of things.

1 – You are putting on muscle mass with the running so the number on the scale isn’t accurate to fat loss. Last month at my weigh in I had only lost 5lbs. But – I lost 5% body fat and 14inches off my total body. That is a huge loss! I actually probably lost about 8lbs of fat but gained about 3lbs of muscle – which is why the scale only showed 5lbs…

2 – You are taking in too many calories. In order to loose 1lb of fat you have to burn 3,000 calories. In order to loose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume. In other words, if you are eating 1500 calories a day but your body is burning 2000, then your body will use your fat reserves for the 500 difference which results in weight loss.

I say keep up what you have been doing. You may want to step up the running a little bit because you constantly want to challenge your body. If it gets use to what you are doing then the weight loss stops. It would also be a good idea to add some weight training in. This will boost your metabolism (which will burn more fat) and tone your body.

I would suggest taking your measurements (shoulders, chest, waist, hips and thigh) and tracking that monthly. Because that is where you will really see a difference.

Hope this helped! Just keep it up!

By the way – 5’2″ and 132lbs is a very healthy weight so are you sure that you even need to loose anymore?

Eat more substantial food and your problem could be you are lacking some important nutrients.

Try low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein, and exercise. The foods are low caloried, and yet filling and healthy. Brisk walking is great for burning body fats.

It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.

Details such as my experience, meals, snacks, recipes, foods to buy, reading labels, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog
