Teen Weight Loss Plan

Teen Weight Loss Plan

With the modern day diets and food, teens forget to take proper care of their health. They tend to fall prey of obesity and other health related issues and hence teens need to come up with dietary plans in order to monitor their health. These few tips can help teen to keep weight off for lifetime if followed religiously.

Do not be negative:

Teens tend to feel guilty about their appearance. Negativity does not help in any aspect of life. It is also important that teens do not blame themselves or their parents for their health. Rather than cribbing about the problem, they should come up with a solution in order to get rid of the problem.

Think Long term:

Whatever ideas you come up with, do not take the as short term or quick methods or weight loss. This should be considered as a permanent change in the lifestyle. You should start eating nutritious food and cut down on things that you were eating before. Eating healthy food should be added with exercising that would help you to get a perfect toned and shaped body. If you are not able to follow healthy practices in the beginning, it should not be considered as a failure. Always keep in mind that you have a long time to achieve what you are looking for and to make the required changes. The chances are that you may go out with friends at a fast food joint and add large order of fries, but there is no need to feel sad or guilty about it. You should keep in mind that this won’t be a habit and you would eat sensibly in your next meal.

Exercise daily:

You may think that eating sensibly is enough to lose weight; but this fact is not completely true. Exercise can help you burn the extra fats and calories that you have and it also helps you to become more energetic. When you wake up in the morning, you may feel lazy to exercise. In such cases you must involve yourself into some physical activities that may help you to get moving and make you active. However make sure that these activities do not require much energy as there use id to only warm you up for the exercises.

Set realistic goals:

Do not go for plans like losing 10% of your weight in a fort night. These goals are practically impossible and may de-motivate you if you do not achieve them. A realistic and possible goal would be losing a half or one pound very week. Also do not lower down you calorie intake to less than 1200 as it may not provided you all the required nutrition to stay fit and healthy. Starvation is not the right way to loose weight. If you do this you may end up feeling dissatisfied all the time.

Talk to your family:

Do not feel shy or do not hesitate to talk to your parents about your plans. That might be of good help to you in order to achieve your goals. They may also help you by finding you materials on nutritious eating. They would also purchase foods that can help you to lose weight. Ask them to prepare food or snacks from fresh fruits, whole grain cereals etc. They would stop giving you food that would tempt you such as sodas, candy, chips donuts or cookies.

Stop being distracted:

Do not get attracted by TV shows with actresses or actors that are very slim. Magazines feature over thin models that would only distract you and may build the feeling of failure in your minds. They do not really look like that in the real world. The fact is that being as thin as a model featured in a magazine and at the same time getting all the required nutrition from an adequate amount of food is merely impossible. You should rather get inspired by athletes and sports personalities who are fit and healthy. They are not only muscular and full bodied, but also they brim over with good health. However this does not mean that you have to pledge to work in order to look like an athlete because the moment you start following a healthy lifestyle and a good fitness regime, you gradually will be like an athlete.

No drugs:

There are many fake pills and other medications available that promise weight loss. These medicines are mostly found on the internet, do not be a victim of such websites as they do not sell the right medicines. These medicines have their own side-effects and may also cause further complications. Go through the reviews posted by the users of such pills on the internet. These medications may come in a very small price which may attract you but they do not work.

Do not just focus on weight loss:

Your plans should not be just about losing weights, but also about getting healthier for good. Do not calculate your achievement by just calculating how much weight you have lost. You also need to look at other things. Let’s say, that now you feel more interested about endurance such as jogging for a long time, biking for long distances etc. this shows that because of the regimes that you follow, you have started feeling more active. Also compare the time you used to take for waking up, time you used to feel physically active etc, before and after you started the practices. See if you get tempted to fast food or junk food. Even if you chose fresh fruits rather than chips and fries for your evening snack, it is a good sign of achievement.

Visit your doctor:

If you feel that your energy level has gone down or if there are any undesired changes in your body, you should visit a doctor. Discuss your plans for weight loss and also schedule regular visits. This would help to keep a track on the progress and to make the required changes in your fitness regimes and practices.
