What is a good way for teens to lose weight?

my brother and his friends call me fat all the time, and put me down, tell me to kill myself and shit like that, and because we are close in age, they hangout with all of my friends too, well i was wondering how to lose weight, but not make a big deal out of it, and make them regret saying that stuff to me. i also would prefer to know how to lose weight without losing any of my boob size.
i’m 13, 5foot7 and i weigh 140

Water diet. Fruit diet. Those work extremely fast. But if you wanna lose weight the “healthy” way, then exercise.

  11. Sally Cat says:

Diet and exercise of course. Walk for at least 30 minutes each day. When you get used to that, start jogging and walking for 30 minutes a day. Once you get used to that … try combining running/jogging/walking all together in one walk each day. It helps, trust me.

teens cant change much in weight, you are meant to be fat. keep imagining that you’re beautiful. maybe someday itll come true, probably not if you’re fat though.

    aaaanyways,

it probably depends on how tall you are, and how much you already weigh.
i would do 30-45 minutes of cardio every day.
20 crunches in the morning, 20 crunches at night.
eat healthier, cut out all the junk food.
    repeat every day :)

I’m sorry but one of life’s bitter ironies is that the breasts are the last place to gain weight and the first place to lose it.

Teens need to be careful because you do not want to stunt your development.

A lot of the answers you will see here will tell you to buy some sort of supplement. Don’t take diet pills. They are unnatural and dangerous. It is not the lack of pills that get us heavy; that is not the fix we need. It was (most likely) improper diet and lifestyle that got you the extra weight. That is the fix we need.

The best way to be healthy is through the principles of balance and moderation. You need to eat good food and eat enough of it.

When trying to lose weight, shoot to lose 1-3 pounds per week. No more. Don’t go hungry, just keep yourself filled with good, natural foods.

Don’t worry about calories. Caloric science is flawed for several reasons. 1) it assumes 100% absorption, but we all absorb and excrete different amounts; 2) It assumes all calories are processed the same, but calories from natural sources are burned more slowly and evenly than from refined sources; 3) It assumes that the amount of energy released by combustion (burning) in a lab is the same amount of energy released when the food is broken down enzymatically in the gut; 4) It assumes that the same exercise done by different people will burn the same amount of exercise, but different exercises will be harder or easier for different people; 5) People in China consume 25-40% more calories; even the sedentary office workers have more calories and less obesity than we.

Asian cultures have long ago figured out how we should be eating, Ever since we have looked to science to tell us how to eat we have seen more obesity and diet-related disease. If we eat like the Asians, we will look like the Asians. This doesn’t mean you have to eat Asian food, just adhere to the principles that are common to the different cultures and cuisines.

You should eat mostly vegetables, mostly cooked (cold and raw foods slow your metabolism because they need to be cooked in your stomach) and a wide variety, mostly fresh and in-season and local, simple grains (more rice, less bread), some fruit, a little meat, no dairy (it’s for infants and grows tissue), and no artificial foods.

Avoid artificial foods, including sugar substitutes. Don’t worry about calories, fat, protein, carbs, nor any one component of food.

There are several books that explain this strategy of eating. “The Asian Diet: simple secrets for eating right, losing weight, and being well” by Bussell explains the diet and its rationale. “The Asian Diet: get slim and stay slim the Asian way” by Tran has recipes that adhere to the principles. “The China Study” by Campbell has the science behind the recommendation.

Get some exercise every day, but not too much and not always the same exercise. Start slow and work your way up. Calisthenics are great, as is Tai Chi. Walking and swimming are also great. All other exercises should be in a wide rotation.

Follow the principles of balance and moderation and you’ll be fine. Most diets in America are not balanced nor moderate.

first you can start off by not letting it bother you “karma” and get a boy toy and stay on top. can loose pounds like that. sit ups, walk with your gf’s or ride a bike during your free time that can not look oviouse. what ya think?

    Use the haters as motivation.
    Run daily!
Eat right and light (don’t starve yourself)
    Be active.

  22. Jin says:

Losing weight without losing your boob size is perhaps impossible? Your breasts are made of fat, and the more fat you have the more bigger your breasts are. Unless they are naturally like that.

Anyways, the best way is to do cardio. It won’t get you muscular, I assume you don’t want to get muscular but it will give you more muscles. The more muscles, the higher metabolism.

The higher metabolism you have then you will lose calories without even having to exercise.

Also, cut back on food. It’s better to have 6 small meals a day then 3 large helpings.

Cut back on carbs. Rice should be about a palm sized.

Don’t drink cold drinks and sodas. It’s best to drink tea or hot water after you eat. Drinking tea or hot water will help eliminate the fat that you obtained from eating.

Exercise is a must. It doesn’t have to be a full workout. Walking for half an hour would be okay.
It’d be best to work out everyday. Drink lots of water and cut back on junk food as well.

I feel your understanding and i think i can help you. you should try my diet plan it works great for me. i loose about 5lbs a week!!!No lie

    Monday-Wed- I walk for atleast 1hr to 2
and mon- wed i eat mainly fruits, and white meat and pastas. Instead of soda for dinner i try to drink milk and or iced tea with lemon. During the day i drink nothing but water and try to eat yogurt or ice cream. In the morning start off with a glass of orange juice.

Thurs, SAt, and Sun- I stick to my monday and wed. food diet but i change up my exercise routine. I walk for only 20-30 mins, and work on my abs, muscles, by doing sit ups and lifting weights.

For your hips, thighs and butt area try hoola hooping you will loose about 1 pants size.

Things to avoid- SUGAR, SALT and SODA for sure

You will not see results until the second week of your excersise plan! But stick to it and you will love it

2 months ago i weighed 136lbs now i am 115 lbs since i been sticking to this diet

  25. that guy who is always correct says:

Well a good start would be to change your diet. If your eating alot of foods with tons preservatives or any fast food you shouldn’t be. It is unhealthy and hard to work off. Eating fish is a big helper too. I use to be unable to bear the taste of fish then I had sushi and that just won me over. The great thing about sushi is that it fills you up and doesn’t have alot of preservatives. If you aren’t exercizing you should be. Instead of using the elevator all the time or escalator go out of your way and use the stairs.
DO NOT lift weights, your fat will turn into muscle and will not look good on you, instead use gravity to your advantage. Do sit ups to get rid of the stomach fat. Do a few push ups, they help lose weight on your arms (if you change the way your wrist is positioned. But one of the best activitys to do is run. Im 17 and when I start to feel lazy or tired often I tend to start running or biking. It helps build your stamina up and its a faster way to travel rather then strolling.

also if your extremely desperate use a the wii. You may look like a baffoon playing it but it really helps your arms get alot of exercizes.

you should taking excercise and eat light food.

  27. PurpleRose says:

First of all, for how tall you are, you’re weight is really good! Before you begin any weight lose program, or diet please check with your doctor to make sure you stay at a healthy weight! And don’t worry if you’re curvy, there is nothing wrong with curves! That is how women are suppose to look, even though the rest of the world might be fixated on “super skinny”.
Secondly, before you do lose any weight, don’t let your brother or his friends or even your friends bother you or tell you that you aren’t good enough! Your issue seems to be more with what they say, then how you feel about yourself. Do you think you’re at an unhealthy weight? Do you think you’re fat? If, when you come to the conclusion by your own thoughts, and you don’t think so, then really, you don’t need to lose any weight! Just try to stay healthy, happy and confident!
Just remember that no one can tear you down unless you let them! I hope it helps :]

  28. Samana Cay says:

First off, I can’t give advice without pointing out that your brother and his friends are just being immature boys. They either want you to think you’re fat or they don’t realize how much it would upset you (being boys). Revenge is not the best way to decide to lose weight.
You’re thirteen and that tall? 140 pounds is not “fat” for you. I’m 16, 5 foot 3, and 130 and I’m average sized.
If you are concerned about your weight though, I would suggest looking at the back of snack boxes and seeing what has less calories and carbs and more protein. Eat more vegetables and fruits and swap a soda for water or juice. If this is abnormal for you, perhaps you could do it in small quantities or when no one else is around. Don’t snack on cookies or before a meal if you do that now.
Because you aren’t overweight for your height and age, maybe you aren’t active enough and the weight you have is more fat than muscle. That’s completely normal. If that’s the case, try doing stretches at night or in the morning. Run or take walks. Do you have any exercise equipment in the house? Little things can go a long way to make you feel healthier and better about yourself while maybe dropping a couple pounds as well.
Unfortunately, being a woman trying to lose weight isn’t fun. If you were to go hardcore into dieting and exercising, it’s likely you’d lose weight in your breasts. Just like gaining weight can make you go up a bra size, it’s not really something you have control over. Some women are able to maintain the same bra size with fluctuating weight and for others, it’s the first place they lose and gain weight. The best way to avoid that is by not cutting out your carbs, but by replacing bad carbs with good carbs (greasy pizza versus pasta primevera). Do exercises concentrating on other areas.

And do you do food shopping? If it wouldn’t be too noticable, you could always pick up diet products like Weight Watchers, Smart Ones, and health bars.

the fact that you’re 5’7″ and 140 and people think you’re fat is kind of ridiculous to me. I’m 5’7″ as well and just went from 168 to 137 in the past year and I’m down to a size 4 dress size… last time i checked, a size 4 isn’t fat. Anyway, if you really think you need to lose weight, this is how I got rid of that 30 pounds. (by the way, your bmi is exactly in the middle of what you should be at.)

The most beneficial thing you can do is cut down portions. And this doesn’t mean stop eating, because then you’re going to go into starvation mode which will make your body hoard everything you put into you. Try to have around 1200 calories a day, give or take a little depending on your weight loss.

The next step is to work out a little bit. I used to play volleyball, but surprisingly that didn’t really help me lose weight. I do 100 crunches a night, a new kind after every 25. Then I do some arm work and do 25 squats. It’s not a lot but it works great.

drink lots of water. cut out sugar, white flour, stick to lean meats like fish and chicken, and eat vegetables.
